How long does it take to get coverage?

A. Colorado Individual Health Insurance is medically underwritten and is not guaranteed issue in Colorado. The process typically takes four to six weeks. It may take as few as two weeks or less if you are extremely healthy. Or it may take longer if the insurance carrier must review medical records

What happens if I get declined?

Can I change my deductible after my policy has been issued?

A. Most Companies will allow you to change to a higher deductible without any trouble. If you were wanting to lower your deductible then more than likely (99.9 likely) you will have to submit a new application.

Can my insurance be canceled because of a health problem?

A No. However, you can use up your benefits after having covered expenses in excess of your lifetime max.

Doesn't it cost more to have a broker find me health insurance?

A. No. Clients do not pay extra fees to a broker for their services. In working with an broker you are essentially working with the insurance companies they sell for. Brokers are appointed by insurance companies and are required to represent them fairly and accurately.

What is A.M. Best?

A. A.M. Best is an independent insurance rating agency that determines the financial stability of a company based on several factors. However, A.M. Best does not consider how a company pays it's claims. While it is important to look for insurance carriers that have a high A.M. Best rating, it is not a guarantee of congruence. For example, a company may have a high A M Best rating but at the same time design their policies to pull large sums of money out-of-pocket for hospitalization.
